The UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules are currently being reviewed with a view to revision. As soon as the revised version of the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules has been finally approved, the Advisory Board of the Chinese European Arbitration Centre will start to review the CEAC Hamburg Arbitration Rules. This review will result in a revised version of the CEAC Hamburg Arbitration Rules based on the new UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules thus properly reflecting the (then) newly reached international consensus on a modern frame for international arbitration.
At present, the overwhelming majority of supporters of the CEAC project has encouraged its initiators to work, for the time being, on the basis of the existing 1976 UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules which were negotiated at the time on a worldwide basis by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. We have merely added, based on due discussion with internationally-renowned arbitration experts, provisions to three areas which were not covered at all by the 1976 UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules:
